We have reached one of my favourite scenes in the film, when Robin and his father walk away into Sherwood Forest with Nottingham Castle perched menacingly on the hill in the background. It is Peter Ellenshaw’s magnificent artistry at its very best and Laurence has captured the image perfectly in this week’s edition of his hugely popular picture strip.

"Picture Strip 7 : Walt Disney's Story of Robin Hood"
Excellent!
Just found your blog via Didier's Disney History site. Are you aware of the serialization that appeared in Mickey Mouse Weekly back in the 1950s? I have several issues that contain this, I'd be happy to share them with you if you are interested.
I have been waiting to see this still - the one of Robin and his father walking together with the background of Nottingham Castle. We have gone on about Peter Ellenshaw's matte painting before but this is a wonderful example of his art because that is a beautiful and also an astonishing scene. This art seems to hold a fascination for me in that it is a way of integrating fantasy and imagination into reality
