The sheet in the background is curious! I don't know much about the mechanics of film-making. Would this picture have been taken during a rehearsal?

I think it might have something to do with 'back projection' or the way they added the 'sky' in the background. As you can tell I am not sure either!
Perhaps someone out there can help!
It was definitely a Studio Set because ages ago I sent in an old Cinema Studio magazine that showed Carmen Dillon who was in the Studio at Denham, and in the background you could see the drawbridge. Good question about rear projection which was used then although I am not sure if they did the Blue/Green screen thing that enabled them to add in the background. Mind you the way they dealt with Peter Ellenshaw's matte paintings shows that they would be well able to add at least the sky in and maybe more. In the film it looks very convincing as we all know. It is a great scene though just before Peter Finch came to a grizzly end.
