I will be taking a break from posting for a week. My father passed away last night in hospital. He was 84. During his life, he had been a very brave soldier, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
After leaving the army, he had worked as a compositor for a local printing press. It was his love for the printed word and the rich tapestry of English history and literature that inspired me. I am going to miss him terribly.
God bless Dad.
To pass on to a son the love of the printed word, a love of literature and history is indeed a great gift. It is indeed a wonderful legacy and one that can be followed throughout life. At times of such sadness to reflect such a gift is I am sure a great comfort. The focus of this Blogspot is on the film The Story of Robin Hood which combines all of these things - its colourful storybook feel, its literary base and its historical background. Your posts reflect your love of the film and the story. The basis for this will be from your father's influence in the areas you mention. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
