I love to read about her, but it always leaves me sad. Sad, like Marlin Monroe sad.Avalonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08722166722435492840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553543872920431955.post-62469750137197319062011-01-02T09:17:38.672-08:002011-01-02T09:17:38.672-08:00Joan Rice, to me, remains one of the most interest...Joan Rice, to me, remains one of the most interesting stars in film history. This is because of her fairy tale meteoric rise to fame, the two major films she starred in and then her incredibly quick descent from stardom - when having acheived such status had it taken from her almost at a stroke. Thanks to Clement, we now have much more information about her than we could ever have imagined but there are still so many unanswered questions. It would have been great for any of us to have met Joan and listened to her fascinating life story at first hand but sadly this cannot be now. I have been a film fan all of my life and this film stands out for me but also so does Joan Rice who fitted into those roles so beautifully. Thanks Clement for your continuing work here. I know we all look forward to whatever comes next !Neilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553543872920431955.post-17142195928757341842011-01-01T08:22:19.407-08:002011-01-01T08:22:19.407-08:00Neil, I only have contact with Joan's niece no...Neil, I only have contact with Joan's niece now.<br /><br />I will inform her about the article and see if she can shed some light on a number of questions we have.Clement Glenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14116966238223089211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553543872920431955.post-68186244052904000352011-01-01T06:34:20.190-08:002011-01-01T06:34:20.190-08:00I have just re-read the article I sent in some tim...I have just re-read the article I sent in some time ago and have picked out what I consider to be some revealing facts. Firstly she had only 6 days notice to fly out to do the film and also she had met Burt Lancaster before - but at which Premiere - maybe The Story of Robin Hood. Also she was planning to marry Martin Boyce at that time but within a very short time after her return she married David Greene. Seems like a whirlwind life in so many ways and yet utterly fascinating. I know you have been in contact with Joan's family and wonder if they can shed any light on these events.Neilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553543872920431955.post-24074241736317380592010-12-31T08:26:19.451-08:002010-12-31T08:26:19.451-08:00A special thanks to Neil for sending this article ...A special thanks to Neil for sending this article to me.<br /><br />"A Letter From Joan Rice"Clement Glenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14116966238223089211noreply@blogger.com
