Hubert Gregg as Prince JohnWalt Disney's Story of Robin Hood (1952)
Terrific performance from Hubert Gregg as Prince John which I have never seen bettered or indeed equalled in any Robin Hood film. In his autobiography he speaks highly of the time making this film and the expense and attention to detail that went into it. Ken Annakin also speaks highly of Hubert Gregg's performance sharing tense scenes with Peter Finch. I love the scene in the castle dungeons towards the end of the film, when he gets his hand dirty and brushes it off quickly and disdainfully and with an almost sneering expression on his face. Great stuff.
I love the look on his face when the chest of gold is pourd out on the table in Nottingham square, and the way he says "Let her go".brilliant.
